Energizer Hard Case LED Inspection Light

Flashlights aren't something that immediately comes to mind when I think of Energizer, but I was pleased with what I got.  The Hard Case Inspection flashlight is categorized by Energizer as a work light, but I find it is quite versatile.

Many LED lights, especially military surplus style lights, have a metal body.  This flashlight's body is plastic, so when paired with the compact design, it is very light.  This is a major benefit for users who choose to wear the flashlight on their hip in the included nylon case.  Past flashlights I've used had rubber grips, which got worn or torn over time to the point where the handle was left with an empty groove, making it very uncomfortable.  Energizer instead uses a matte finish along the lower half to provide the grip and a curve in the body for resting the index finger.  This lets the light fit comfortably in your hand, which is nice for users who like to hike or camp but don't want a devoted hands-free light and need to illuminate their paths.  The light is water resistant and shines at 40 lumens, comparable to other outdoor lights by Energizer.  The light is rated for illuminating objects 76 meters away and will stay bright for 1 hour and 15 minutes of continuous use.  So for infrequent use during a camping trip it is great, but not recommended for long nighttime hikes.

It is quite durable since it's intended use is work.  The compact design mentioned previously means that it doesn't occupy a lot of space in a tool box or pack.  It also allows the light to fit into various locations that larger work lights can't.  I've used this in tight spaces under my sink to install new taps and found it was much easier to get the light where I needed it.  I would recommend this over most general purpose flashlights because it satisfies all the needs of a everyday flashlight and has the durability for tougher jobs.  In addition, it only requires two AAA batteries, so you don't have to buy large batteries specific for your flashlight, and it has the brightness (and more) needed for everyday use in a much smaller size.  See it for yourself.
